Discovering Transits – Saturn transiting through houses

Introduction

Saturn is moving through a sign in approx. 2,5 years. It is seen as a cruel planet but the gifts it can give usually last for a long time. In this article I am going to go through the different transits of Saturn through the houses.

Saturn Transits – Good and Bad

Certain transits of Saturn are more distinct than others, respectively viewed as good or bad transits.

Good transits of Saturn include Saturn transiting the natal 1st, 3rd,4th, 5th, 6th, 10th and 11th house.

The harder transits of Saturn are those of Saturn transiting natal 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th and 12th houses.

Saturn transiting the 1st house – Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons related to the self and the physical body. Usually people become interested in healthy eating, exercising and taking care of the body. In extreme cases this can lead to eating disorders or relating difficulties. In best cases a healthier and more vital body.

This is the start of a new cycle in your life and thus it´s important that the body is in good shape to be able to experience it. It will cause a long term commitment to the new practiced care of the body and self. Though this transit might lead to some isolation and feeling of loneliness but it´s mostly a favorable transit.

Saturn transiting the 2nd house – Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of self values, social circle and family. There might become some distress to the social circle and there might be discord between your self values and the values of the social circles/family´s.  There might be decrease in popularity, isolation, poverty and unhappiness.

Saturn transiting 3rd house –  Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of communication, courage and friends/siblings. This is usually a favorable transit which will help you in these areas and usually give you more bliss in your life.

Saturn transiting 4th house –  Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of home, parents, psychology, roots and personal peace. This transits gives  better relationship towards parents, or parental figures, giving strength to re-invent ones psychological setup, getting over the past and exploring the soul.

Saturn transiting 5th house – Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of creative intelligence, strengthening that which is unique about you, entertainment and creative power. Usually this transit gives a new spark into being proud of your own unique person. Giving happiness and empowerment of being you, not caring about what others think or believe you to be. Creative, speculative and romantic activities are favorable.

Saturn transiting 6th house – Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of health, daily activities and enemies. This transit gives insight in adding value to the things we love. For instance during the fifth house there might have been romantic association, but during the Saturn transiting the sixth house we want our love to be more meaningful than just a romantic association.  Thus creating day-to- day value of the love. Managing daily routines, getting a job, victory over enemies might be favorable during this transit.

Saturn transiting the 7th house – Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of partnerships and relationships. This is the time period of testing your relationships and compromising skills. This might be a hard transit that might give grief but eventually will lead to a more realistic way of relating and look at relationships.

Saturn transiting the 8th house –  Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of emotional liberation. Here we will explore what it is we really want and  how we handle (8th house is a psychological house as well as the 4th & 12th) power, control and unforeseen changes.

If we are afraid of unforeseen changes we might have addictions, attachments, obsessive compulsive thoughts/behavior. Now is the time all the monsters come to surface and it´s time to learn to get rid of fears and learn what really matters to us, what we really desire and what we really need to survive.

Saturn transiting the 9th house – Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of our belief system, ideals, teachings and hope. Here Saturn might give us a discontent of our belief system and ideals, if they are realistic and whether or not we still stand for them.

It will eventually give more confidence in what we do want to stand for and believe in. Ideals we hold and the new belief systems we want to practice might become evident during this transit.

Saturn transiting the 10th house –  Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of one´s actions, reputation, how one impacts the world. This is a favorable transit which gives joy in one´s actions, good reputation and might give prosperity. Now knowledge of where we want to go limiting our self to a field from which we can impact the world will appear.

Saturn transiting the eleventh house – Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of universal desires, higher purposes, what we do with the impact we have in the world. Superficial values from standing the pressure and fitting in with groups might be re-analysed. Giving a more sincere inner definition on what we wishes for our personal path. This is a favorable transit for desires.

Saturn transiting the twelfth house – Sobering up, getting aware, maturing and having lessons in the area of universal freedom. Endings and withdrawal from the world might be key elements here. Saturn comes into re-work the psyche and to get to the bottom of hidden, undone things that one before might not have wanted to take care of or look at.The task here is to deal with the endings of these. Poverty and isolation might be seen. Even psychosomatic health issues can arise.
